The new ultimate thrill for wealthy urbanites is to flirt with interactive death in illegal speakeasies. The opulence of Beijing has brought a new cultural imperialism. And a new generation lives in fear and hope. It is a new world in which Zhang is still finding his way...

Simple really. It bored me.

The characters had depth, but were low-energy... meaning they didn't really grab me, had no real focus and all seemed to be a little vague about their place in the plot.

I struggled to make it through the first 3 chapters, cruised through the next couple, and basically skimmed the rest of the book, I found it that watery.

Overall, not impressed, can't say much good, so won't say any more.

Author: Jez Alborough

Product image for Duck in the TruckWatch out! Here comes Duck in a brand new edition of the first book in the million copy bestselling series! This is the tale of a duck in a truck - a truck that was stuck in some yucky brown muck. A sheep in a jeep and a frog in a bush saw the truck stuck and gave it a push. But the truck stayed stuck! What now, can you guess? Could a goat in a boat get them out of this mess?
